Total makeover

Hello and welcome to the ‘new’ blog. Over time we change and our look on things change as well, the look of the blog is certainly one of those things. The old layout seemed too cluttered and chaotic so I checked out everything I could find but couldn’t decide on any of them. This one, Mystique, was exactly what I was looking for. I didn’t even have to change anything, it’s the perfect theme imho. Its bubbliness and happy colors are contagious πŸ˜€

I’m not sure if this will work for everyone or just the administrator but when you move your mouse to the top right of the blog (the black area) two buttons appear. The left one is to increase the text size and the right one is to make the blog more wide. This way you can adjust your own view πŸ™‚ I didn’t know about this function but obviously it’s fantastic. One of the reasons I had so much trouble finding a good theme is because I work on a 24″ monitor and I always see a very small blog and a LOT of background… very annoying… πŸ˜›

I don’t seem to have access to my laptop…. πŸ˜›

The kittens are growing and becoming more and more interested in the colorful yarns that dance around in the living room. They’ve already gotten to one of my favorite 4.0mm bamboo short needles and I’ve been using some sanding paper to get it smooth enough but I might need to use some clear coat to get it really functional again. This here box was given to me by my mother-in-law, and the crafting geek in me awoke. I printed out an A4 with a very pretty Zelda picture I found on the internet. I removed the colors, pasted it on the box and covered it all with a layer of gesso. When I have some time on my hands I’m planning to use some watercolor to give it a nice old look πŸ˜€ I wanted something inspiring for my knitting work πŸ™‚

It looks a bit messy but that’s because of the gesso, but for now it’s the inside that counts πŸ™‚

A little progress update on the mystery project. Obviously the progress bar sais it’s called ‘Commelina’ but that’s not the secret/ mystery part πŸ˜‰

These last pictures are the yarns that still don’t know what they want to be when they grow up πŸ™‚ The two right pictues are proof of the growing kittens and the rescue kit that saved my half knawed on bamboo knitting needle πŸ™‚
