guess who’s back! It’s been a while, but apparently moving to a new town with a baby and sleep deprivation isn’t something to look forward to. I’m happy to say that we’re in the new house, and I’ve finally got a little corner of my own (at least to blog from). I’m still unpacking and I still haven’t dealt with all of my stash yet, but that’s not very important for the time being.

There’s still so much left to do! I’m still painting the baby room, still working on getting everything cleaned up and folded again. Le sigh.

You’ll understand that there might not be so much knitting content to show at the moment, but I’m doing my best. Once again, knitting is proving to be the only thing that’s keeping me from committing murder (and the like). I’ve always used this blog for (over)sharing things in my personal life, but this time I can’t write what has happened. At least, not in detail.

Sometimes people hurt you, they betray you, stab you in the back, take all you have and leave you with nothing. In times like this it’s easy to get angry, bitter or resentful. I’m far from perfect, so I’ve felt the need to take revenge, hurt them or treat them the way they have treated me. But after the hurt and the anger have had time to fade a bit, the wise words of Mother Theresa help me more than anger or revenge ever could.

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
if you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

The other text is a poem by Molana (Rumi), the guest house

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

I’m trying to find a kind way to write about them, but I’m finding it hard to do so. I’ve been stabbed in the back before, but not in such a cowardly fashion. Especially not so when all I’ve done is help them better themselves.

I guess in the end it’s not between them and I anyway. I wish them well. The best ‘revenge’ is living well, and I know I’ll have my day. I’ll focus my time on my family and friends, on my love for knitting and on you, my dear reader. They’ve had too much of my time anyway 🙂

So a few pictures because this is a knitting blog not a rant blog haha

My new ‘office’ is awesome! I had to cover up all the boxes with plastic so the kitty won’t start digging 🙂

Lovely flowers my MIL brought.

I’ve got so much love for Finlandia Shetland!

My handspun ten-stitch-blanket in Nunoco fiber.

By the way, the floor is so nice for photos! <3 A little close up! The gray makes the colors pop!

Another Dryad shawl, but this one is for my lovely MIL 🙂 I’m only allowed to knit while watching Downton Abbey, and I’m only allowed to binge watch during the weekends. I’m going to have this one finished next weekend I’m afraid…

And here’s the socks I’ve been working on since forever….

and last but not least: little Noodles enjoying the view. They’re not allowed to go outside yet, because they need their annual vaccinations first and I’m ordering gps thingies for them. But once that’s done, they’re free to roam the neighborhood. I’m so super scared!!!

  1. Sending you lots of hugs, it’s never nice when people treat you in such an appaling way! But luckily the move is out of the way now and you can start enjoying your new home and all those fantastic knits. That finlandia yarn looks super yummy!
