The year 2015

So here it is. The last post of 2015. I can’t believe this year, on the one hand it went by in the blink of an eye, but on the other hand I feel as though I’ve aged at least 5 years (in the past six months).

So much has happened this year, I can’t even begin to write about it. I haven’t blogged/ knit/ spun as much as I would’ve liked, but there’s always next year, so I’m not sad about it 🙂 We moved to another town, a bigger house (and a garden <3) so I’ll have so much to plant in 2016! So much space to grow crops 🙂 Also, in 2016 the cats will be allowed to roam free for the first time. I’m scared out of my mind that something will happen to them, but on the other hand I feel that cats are supposed to be able to climb, hunt and play in the outdoors as well. Our garden lies in a cul-de-sac so there aren’t many speeding cars. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. They’re scared of everything anyway, they might just stay in the garden..

The move also gave my knitting and spinning stuff a LOT more space. Right now most of it is still packed, but soon we’ll be able to unpack everything and give it a proper place in the house. There’s still so much to do, but we’ve had a LOT of help from a lot of amazing people (a huge thank you to my MIL and FIL <3).
Also: lots of love for my own mom for letting us crash in her house for over 2 months. So much love to DH for all the hard work on the old house and on the new house. I couldn’t help so everything fell on him this time and he handled it like a bro. Thumbs up 🙂

So I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m super thankful for all the things that happened this year. I’m so grateful to have this wonderful family and amazing support network. I have so much love for all of you who haven’t forgotten about me even though I never returned your calls or replied to your comments.. I’ve been away so much and still this blog has views. Thank you for being you!

I have some wild plans for 2016. Here’s a list, lets see what we’ll accomplish (so write about yours too!)

1. Lose that pregnancy weight.
I gave myself 6 months off because I felt like it. I gained 12 kilos during my pregnancy (baby included). I started out weighing 58 and now I’m at 66. I’m not really focussing on weight perse, but more on size. I was a 36, now I’m a 38/40, and I’m going to try to go back to 36. I’m also going back to drinking a lot of vegetable juice so I’m going back to my juicer. I’m going to cut back on sugar (because right now I’m out of control), and I’ll keep breastfeeding. Who knows what will happen.

2. Have so me more me-time.
I’ve been a mom 24/7 the past 6 months and even though I find it really rewarding, I think it’s time for me to regain control of my life (like dye my roots..).

3. Blog more (lol.. I feel like I’ve written that one down at least a dozen times)
I started out with an average of 2 posts per month, then I disappeared in July, and then there was 1 post every month. I guess you could argue that at least I posted 😛 I’m going to try to post once a week. I need a better way to document my life and with the days blending like they are, I feel like I’ve ‘lost’ a lot of what happened. Though in all honesty, looking back I’m still proud of 1 post a month 😛

4. Read and comment more on the interwebz
Obviously I mean read blogs and be more active on the Ravelry forums. I used to be a little active, and reading blogs was something I really enjoyed, so I’d like to make an effort to spend more time reading and commenting/ talking on the forums. I don’t mind doing that on mobile, but since I’m borrowing my moms phone I haven’t done anything. I’m looking forward to my new phone… (probably 2016 haha)

5. Master (lol) different styles of wrap carries.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned this before on the blog, but I’m a big fan of carrying my baby. Even before he was born I wanted to carry him around (in a wrap not in my arms, also not in a carrier. No hate for carriers, but I felt a wrap was more comfortable and natural for me). People have carried their babies since the dawn of man (and they still do). I feel it’s a very natural way for me to both be there for my baby and function in my life as well. Sometimes they just want to be held and sometimes there’s things that need to be done. I had two stretchy wraps by babylonia (the tricot slen cool in navy and the tricot slen in green). As he’s getting older and heavier, he’s also becoming more and more active and strong. I’m very proud of course, but it also means that the stretchy fabric is no longer comfortable. It’s strong enough, but because of the movements I kept having to adjust the wraps and it was getting bothersome. Then I ordered the BB slen (also by babylonia) in Passion Fruit. It takes some getting used to because it’s different than the stretchy fabric, you have to spend a bit more time on tying, but when you’re done it will last. So now I bought another one, a Little Frog in Chrysocolla Merino and I’m loving it. it’s so nice and soft. So 2016 will be the year I master a few new carries woohoo!

6. Reclaim and protect my working time.
It’s the first thing that goes out of the window and it shouldn’t. I’ve been working on a lot of things, but the whole writing it up and doing the math isn’t really working out for me at the moment. It’s not that it’s hard, it just needs time. I can’t find the time to spent at least 1 hour on it in one sitting. I’m a chaotic person by nature, so I need to take the time to sit and write/ or read through it. I can’t be getting up every 10 minutes, or it won’t get done. So here’s what I’m going to do: I’m going to take myself and my work seriously and I’m going to consider myself a working person again.

This is the list so far. I’m not sure if I’ll think of a few more or not (probably will), but I think these are the most important ones. I have been knitting of course, but I don’t have any great pictures right now. This will have to do for now. You can always find me as lilirious on instagram and twitter.

I hope 2016 will be an amazing year for you all!
